Stocks rally in last hour
Wall Street continued its last-hour antics today, but the outcome changed from red to various shades of green for the big three indices. The Dow Jones rallied to close 1.8% higher (151 points) at 8,424, the S&P 500 rose 1% (8 points) to 859 and the Nasdaq squeaked out a 1-point gain to 1,483. The Russell small-cap didn't catch the wave and ended down 1%. The Associated Press has the day's see-saw details. read
